A clinical psychologist at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Public Health suggests that you regroup after loosing you job. Experts are suggesting that people tend to their mental health before diving into the job hunt.

What do you think? Have you got laid off or fired due to our current economic crisis? What were the largest hurdles that you had to overcome after loosing your job?

I know many friends who are unemployed and I realize how it not only affects the person without his or her job but also those around them. It's important more than ever to offer support to those without a job and to remain positive in the light of rising anxieties.

Of course it is going to affect people. in the current economic climate the first thing a company does to cut costs is get rid of employees. this is the true definition of capitalism, its survival of the fittest...plus when a company has a fiduciary duty to shareholders the pressures of delivering are pressures we will never face.

I will always offer support for people who have been laid off...if, as discussed in the first post, you are fired due to the economic crisis then you will never have to work again because that is illegal.
