CR Weekly Feature: Recent Recalls

  • A Minnesota turkey processor is recalling nearly 59,000 pounds of turkey burger products after a dozen people got sick in 10 states. Jennie-O Turkey Store issued the recall after reports that the product is contaminated with salmonella.
  • Trader Joe’s Pizza Al Pollo Asado is being recalled because of an undeclared allergen. Around 131,000 pounds of the frozen pizza products do not report the presence of wheat.
  • Honda Motor Co. is recalling 2,800 Odyssey vehicles from 2011 due to the risk of windows coming unglued. The car maker says it is possible for the windows to come off their tracks and bind, which prevents the window from being raised or lowered.
  • About 3,700 Toro Z Master ZRT Mowers are being recalled due to a problem with a switch that could accidentally activate the mower.
  • Arko Foods International is recalling all 8 oz. packages of Angelina Brand Smoked Rounscad because it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death.
  • Volkswagen is recalling about 71,000 Jettas from the 2011 model year because a wiring problem with the horn could cause the engine to stall.
  • Price Chopper Supermarket is recalling all units of “Regular Homestyle Potato Salad” sold between March 19 and March 28 due to listeria contamination.
  • Wayne Farms recalled about 53,210 pounds of frozen, breaded, fully cooked Italian-style chicken breast fillets because they contained egg that wasn’t listed on the label.
  • Louie Foods International recalled all Louie’s brand sprouts with a use-by date on or before April 14 because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
  • Candy Dynamics recalled some of its super-sour Toxic Waste Short Circuits Bubble Gum because it could contain high levels of lead.
