Some Hazelnuts Recalled for Salmonella

If you’re thinking of giving hazelnuts for the holidays, it might be time to check the label. Whole Foods Market is recalling organic raw hazelnuts, also known as filberts, which were sold in bulk in its stores in California, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington. The nuts may be contaminated with salmonella.

Also keep an eye out for non-organic dry roasted hazelnuts sold in bulk in stores in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington and non-organic raw hazelnuts sold in bulk in Oregon and Washington. No illnesses have been reported, according to the company.
