Two Manufacturers Recall Hooded Sweatshirts

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled hooded sweatshirts from two manufacturers this week, because of risk of strangulation from the drawstrings. No injuries have been reported in either case.

About 3,700 girls’ hooded sweatshirts are being recalled by Allura Imports Inc. of New York. The sweatshirts were sold as a two-piece set, and are velour with a zip front. “Major Diva” is printed on the front. “2B REAL” is printed on the inside tag. Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide sold the sweatshirts in hot pink, light pink, ivory and khaki from October 2008 through July 2009.

Velour warm-up sets made by KT Group Inc. of New York were also recalled. About 5,400 of the sweatshirts were distributed, with the name “Beverly Hills Polo Club” on the tag and center back neck. They were also sold at the Burlington Coat Factory from September 2007 through October 2009.
