Weight Watchers Recalls Hungry Figures

If you’re looking to thwart hunger, don’t seek inspiration from Weight Watchers’ Hungry Figures. 400,000 of the plush figures and magnets have been recalled after sewing needles were found in the stuffing.

Weight Watchers determined that the needles posed a puncture hazard to consumers after receiving reports from customer employees about needles being found in two Hungry Figures. Both Hungry Figures and Hungry Magnets have orange plush exteriors and are between 4 inches and 6 inches long. No injuries have been reported so far.

Children could be especially at risk to injury from placing the Hungry Figures in their mouths or handling the toys. All of the products were manufactured in China, and were distributed in Canada as well as the U.S.

The figures were sold by Weight Watchers between April 2009 and July 2009 for between $4 and $6. Customers should immediately stop using the figures and return them to Weight Watchers for a full refund or credit to be used towards another product.

For more information about the recall, call Weight Watchers toll-free at (866) 288-3891 between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.weightwatchers.com.
