‘Skinny Jeans’ Class Helps You Slide into your Slims

Sure, it’s important to shape up for your bikini in summer. But most of the year, you have to worry about looking good in your jeans. With the return of the skinny jean, this may take some work.

Never fear, the Skinny Jeans Workout is specially designed to help you eliminate unsightly bulges so you can wear those painted-on jeans. Developed by Los Angeles fitness expert Lisa Grimmer, the Skinny Jeans Workout is a Pilates-based method that combines strengthening and cardio with exercises designed to improve posture and balance.

According to the Skinny Jeans philosophy, posture is the key to looking good in your tight pants. Participants develop the strength to hold their backs straight, as well as trim down the belly and thighs.

Grimmer explains, “Really we’re thinking about anything that would be postural or placed into your jeans, so you’ve got your abdominals, of course, and we work the inner and outer thighs that go into the jeans.”

Skinny Jeans classes are now being offered at gyms across the United States, and there is a workout DVD for home use.

“My clients love it,” says Grimmer. “They all come to the class, and they’ve seen such great results. I’ve had people go down sizes in jeans; I’ve had people tighten up. … They’re standing up a little bit taller, and everything’s straighter and very proud.”
