Beauty Secrets of the Stars

On screen, stars always look amazing and healthy because of thousands of dollars worth of lighting, filtering, editing, and thick, expertly applied makeup. Of course it is important for celebrities to keep up appearances off screen as well, and they often have a hefty budget for keeping their skin clear, their hair shiny, and their bodies in great shape.

However, you don’t have to have a multi-million dollar movie deal to look great, and there are plenty of quick, cheap beauty fixes that the stars have let slip. For a youthful glow Jennifer Love Hewitt swears by pink lip gloss. As an added bonus, you can blend it over blush on your cheeks for a long lasting, dewy glow. Mariska Hargitay takes a hot shower in the morning to increase circulation and bring out a natural blush in her skin.

Angelina Jolie’s pedicurist recommends the following home-made exfoliating scrub: Mix half a cup of sugar, a quarter teaspoon of poppy seeds, a quarter teaspoon of baking soda, and a few drops of lemon juice. Scrub vigorously on soles and arches, then rinse for beautifully soft feet.

Lisa Kudrow’s makeup artist recommends soft paper napkins soaked in almond oil for a sweet-smelling, gentle makeup remover. Plus, you can take them on the go in an airtight container! Country girl Shania Twain uses lotion designed to keep cow’s udder’s moisturized to keep her skin smooth. There are also shampoos designed for horse’s manes that are reported to have excellent results for people, too.

For radiant figures, Demi Moore recommends swimming and in-line skating, while Joan Collins recommends a popular exercise, sex, to stay trim and youthful. For relaxing afterwards, Reese Witherspoon recommends a tennis ball massage. Lie gently on a tennis ball and roll away your tension.
