Ross Stores Recalls Patio Chairs Due to Fall Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Health Commission and Ross Stores, Inc. announced a voluntary recall of folding patio chairs sold in Ross locations nationwide.

The chairs pose a fall hazard to consumers, due to faulty side supports that can collapse when weight is placed on them.

According to a statement released on April 9, Ross Stores received at least one report of a consumer who suffered shoulder pain after her chair collapsed. Customers are advised to stop using the chairs immediately and return them to Ross for a full refund or exchange.

The folding wooden chairs are made of eucalyptus, and were sold starting in February 2009 for about $50. The SKU number 400037791757 and manufacturer number KTOC-1638-ROS are printed on a hangtag attached to the chair.
